Early days of our business started as S & S Iron.  Much time was spent building and scratching our path through many areas of Arizona: Troon, Scottsdale, Chandler, Cave Creek, Paradise Valley, Glendale, Surprise, Gilbert, Chandler and Queen Creek. 

Many projects entailed building interior handrails, patio enclosures, security doors and exterior handrail. 

All along learning what it means to put the customer first and do work you can be proud of at the end of the day. 

S & S Iron followed us to New Mexico for five years, where it retired when we relocated back to Arizona.

Today, Shawn's two sons (Taylor & Tyler) work hard to keep SCP Weldz thriving and a company customers can count on. Taylor & Tyler were 11 years old when they began learning how to weld and work with customers. Combined Shawn and his sons have over 20 years’ experience with many welding and fabricating processes. 

Building something worth leaving behind is the goal of our company which has come with many steps and directions. Learning the welding trade, acquiring the certified training, utilizing the 20 years of knowledge and experience in the mining industry, focusing on safety for ourselves and our customers, hiring AWS certified welders, fixing our mistakes and always leaving our customers wanting more. 

In eight short years, we have worked with hundreds of customers here in Arizona. We thank them all for allowing us to share our family and services with them.

Taylor is not just an AWS certified welder—Taylor is the kind of professional who brings energy and positivity to every project. Known for exceptional communication and a genuine passion for customer service, Taylor quickly builds rapport with clients and teammates alike, making every collaboration enjoyable and productive.

Tyler is a highly skilled welder and fabricator whose attention to detail has earned consistent praise from our customers. Beginning welding at a young age, Tyler has accumulated years of hands-on experience working on a wide range of projects, from interior handrails and patio enclosures to complex equipment repairs and custom metalwork. Tyler’s technical expertise is backed by certified training and a commitment to safety. 

Known for a lighthearted sense of humor, Tyler fosters a positive and collaborative work environment, making teamwork enjoyable and productive. Tyler’s versatility shines through in the ability to work with diverse materials—including stainless steel, aluminum, and steel—and to adapt to the unique needs of each project.
